What's in season in autumn. Produce is rich and rewarding at this time of year. Creamy pumpkins and eggplants are at their best early in the season, as are mushrooms, zucchinis and broccoli. As for what fruit is in season in autumn, enjoy a bountiful harvest of apples, bananas, plums and nashi pears, to name a few.
Pears and sweet potatoes are two fall foods with plenty of fiber. The autumn harvest brings forth a variety of root vegetables and crisp fruits, perfect for creating comforting meals to enjoy as the weather begins to cool.
There's a condition known as seasonal affective disorder that's characterized by increased appetite and cravings, along with increased sleepiness and lethargy that begins in autumn, when light exposure starts to dwindle.
